Hydrodynamic analyses
are handled by Hydromax, providing large angle stability,
damaged stability, cross curves, longitudinal strength,
grounding conditions, tank loading, tank calibration and
several other modes of analysis. Various stability criteria
including wind-heel are provided and may be assessed in
any user specified wave form. The final report accumulated
by Hydromax may be formatted and edited as needed. Heeled
views can be displayed from any viewing angle, and also
included in the Hydromax report. You can see it flying
here.
Uses
An example of
an unusual use to which we have put these capabilities
is a recent float plane project. The modeling and fairing
of the floats was done using Maxsurf, and hydrostatics
using Hydromax. The most recent module called Seakeeper
computes the heave and pitch response, added resistance
in waves, the longitudinal distribution of shear force
and bending moment, then displays these in both graph
and tabular form
